About Greater Alabama Air Shows

Connecting Communities Through the Power of Aviation

Greater Alabama Air Shows (GALAS) was created with a simple belief: aviation has the power to inspire, educate, and bring communities together.

Across Alabama's rural communities, airports serve as valuable community assets and gateways to opportunity. GALAS works alongside local partners to transform those assets into experiences that spark curiosity, encourage lifelong learning, and create meaningful connections between people, industries, and the next generation.

Through STEAM programs, aviation outreach, fly-ins, drive-ins, and community events, GALAS introduces youth and families to the excitement of flight while highlighting the many educational and career pathways found within aviation, aerospace, technology, engineering, and skilled trades.

By creating accessible, engaging, and family-friendly experiences, we are helping communities discover how aviation can strengthen local connections, support economic growth, and inspire future generations to dream bigger, reach higher, and explore what's possible.

Building Stronger Communities

Every GALAS program is designed to create lasting impact beyond the event itself.

We believe rural communities deserve access to experiences that spark imagination, encourage learning, and open doors to new possibilities. By bringing aviation experiences directly into communities, we help create connections that benefit students, families, local organizations, and regional economies.

Together, we are taking Alabama higher by inspiring communities through aviation.
